Occupying 202 acres of land, the Kansas City Zoo is one of the largest zoos in the nation containing 1300 animals. The zoo offers a number of relaxing rides and tours around the park, including boat, train, golf cart or Segway tours as well as an endangered animal carousel. A large IMAX theater plays educational movies on Hurricane Katrina, Mount Everest and the deep sea multiple times daily. It is located in Swope Park, the largest park in Kansas City, about 10 miles south of downtown.
