The hereford house is a very good place to go for lunch during the week. For dinner it can get pretty expensive for a steak. I went here for lunch and got two petite filets and a side dish for under 15 dollars. If you go definately get mashed potatoes as a side dish, as they are great.

Went to the Power and Light district... if you live in KC it would be hard to identify a lot of the places as "KC." And what the heck? One of the restaurants was out of beef...the waitress said, "well, we are really more of a bar." No beef? In KC? And was sad to see that Hereford downtown had a fire and wasn't open yet for dinner. But, had a chance to go to the HH in Shawnee/Lenexa area. Great looking place. Service was very friendly - like you would want from a midwest steak house. There was a really inexpensive menu served at the bar in the "early bird" type hours. I think the steak was less than ten bucks and burgers less than five..ridiculous. I know that Applebees is a KC company...but please folks...support the KC restaurants before the Cheesecake Factory, Famous Daves, and Panera's take over the world with their institutional foods....

I actually walked out this last time. I don't mind paying for good food, but 28 bucks for the steak only...in KC? LA, SF, NYC...I can maybe understand....but these guys are NOT WORTH THE MONEY. ($28 was the cheapest I remember seeing). Yes I am cheap...that's how I afford the Mercedes and two Jaguars)
